Foie gras was offered tonight... Need one say more! Finally, a san Diego place that sears the tender duck liver with a plum sauce, a brioched pear slice and toasted bread... Fabulous:

A red and yellow beet salad with arugula and simple dressing :

Our gracious hostess was showcasing the house wine.. Corked an bottled locally, the restaurant purchased a couple of caskets of a red wine similar to a meritage...

But the piece de resistance, the lamb shank.. With bone and all! Hints of cinnamon, berries and wild couscous adorned this gorgeous piece of meat:

The kitchen was open for all the action to be seen:

Specials of the day posted on chalkboards also indicated to the side where items were items were being sourced from:

With art decor and other eclectic images throughout:

Homemade chocolates with sea salt, almonds, cherries or hazelnut soothed the full bellies:

Only to make room for the cheese plate.. A creamy Brie, a bite of an aged Camembert all in bite portions:

The farmhouse had a warm welcoming, great food and definitely on the list for returns.
