Cafe bleu - SD ... The last supper

Cafe bleu located on washington is a fantastic french inspired dining experience. Having been here before and reviewed several times, the warm interiors, bold reds, bright bleu lights and loungy comfortable chaises, booths and tables, you quickly submerge away from the busy washington st.

The last supper started off with a pop.

Always a great way to celebrate life. An amuse busch brought out a tasty cucumber with spaniah cheese, pickled meats and a tangy olive oil based topping started the session:

The appetizer of the day included kobe beef lollipops with gorganzola baked goodness, prosciutto wrapped asparagus and mini empanadas stuffed with seafood covered in a spicy chipotle like sauce. A devistion away from the french influence, it was definately delicious:

A zoom up of the kobe lolli's with gorganzola:

The seafood empanadas:

A roasted beet and goat cheese salad was drizzled with a reduced balsamic demi glaze and accompanied with candied pecans:

The main dish, a pesto encrusted yellowtail served with caper and tomatoe pasta shells was fantastic:

The hangar steak and crab claws next were also prepared well and tasty :

For desserts, a flourless chocolate with cooke cherries was devilishly good:

The banana bread pudding with pistachio ice cream provided a great combination:

The chilean cab went phenomenally well. Bold, robust and spice complemented all the flavors.
