Uruguanian food

So inspired by a recent art exhibit at SDMA were Joaquin Torres was being exhibited, the flavors of Uruguay came alive under a friendly social setting. Vibrating energy throughout, the ceviche samplers and spinach quiche were being snapped up faster than you can take pictures of!

With Tango artists entering the scene, Tapenade entertained with rich juicy carved meats, rice pilaf and plenty of sausage type meats and empanadas hordourves.





The meat had a bowl of chimichurri sauce next to it, thick and green, not as oily or spicy as I recall from punta del este, but nonetheless good. Little chicken milanesa bites were presented. For those who have made milanesa before (egg soaked meat, coated with bread crumbs and then fries), the sandwich presentation was something different.

The Dulce de leche flan was custurdy, sweet and just the right finishing flare. A little grand marnier and it would have been divine:
